About More Than Paris

( > Paris )

Who am I? No, this isn’t my sinking into existentialist French philosophy – it’s never been a subject of interest to be honest…

My name’s Seb and I’m originally from Suffolk, England. It was at school there where I got my first taste of learning French and French culture from a French teacher who came from Paris.

Starting off learning the language through talking about food, music, films, and TV, I showed great enthusiasm to learn more.

I have therefore devoted a huge part of my life to studying French culture, customs and, of course, the language.

With educational trips to Paris and Normandy, holidays to the West and South coasts and the Alps, and studying and working in various locations, I’ve had a wide range of experiences to fuel my love for the country and its way of life further, while developing my knowledge and perspective.

It seems totally strange to me looking back, now at the age of 25, that I’ve been reading up on and immersing myself in French culture, life and language for 20 years and I know there are many more experiences to come.
